When and how did your business get started?

I started Ayers Realty Group in 2005. My father-in-law and I were buying investment properties and felt we weren't getting the best service from the agent. I said "I can do this better!"...and did!

What is your business best known for?

People come to us for our down-to-earth attitude and market knowledge. However, our new moving truck seems to be a big hit too! We let all of our clients use it for free when they buy or sell their home with us!

Why did you choose the town you did to open your business?

In real estate, everything is "local." We shop in the same stores as our clients, our kids attend the same schools as our clients and we even live among our clients in the same subdivision.

We hire agents that live in the area and we hire local contractors. We want to KNOW the community and we want the community to KNOW us! That is why we write a local real estate blog for the Oswego Patch too!

What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?

We are a "paperless" real estate brokerage! In 2012, we migrated all of our systems and tools to the Cloud. Whether it is email, our phone system, our CRM application, document storage, or backend transaction management, it is available to our agents online 24/7.

We even hired a virtual real estate assistant to assist us with marketing and transaction management. (Although, I personally want to hire someone locally in 2014!)

Business Spotlight is a regular column featuring information provided by local businesses. If you're a local business, share your information in this form. We also write features about local businesses. To send your ideas, email editor Michael Sewall at michael.sewall@patch.com. Businesses can also blog on Patch or share events in our calendar.
