When and how did your business get started?

After moving to Oswego in March and quitting my job due to the commute I had to find something to do for income. I knew I didn't want to go back to the 9-5 office grind so I decided to try and start something I was passionate about. I launched Kolie's Home Kreations in June of 2013.

What is your business best known for?

I specialize in refinished or reloved furniture. I offer customization options on pieces I have in inventory or clients pieces that need a facelift. I also sell home decor items, vintage items and antique items.

Why did you choose the town you did to open your business?

I currently run most of my business out of my home in Oswego. All the painting is done there as well as custom orders. I do have a space in Naperville at Affordable Antiques & More as of Nov. 1, 2013.

What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?

I think the most amazing thing about this business is the relationships that have been built with my customers. They let me into their homes and I get to know their families. We brainstorm ideas together so I really get a sense of how a person lives and what makes them happy. At the end of the day they are left with a piece of me and I get to use each new experience to make the next one better.
