Aurora Needs Overtime to Defend Fox Bend Golf Championship

Prep fall athletic season begins Monday

Sumeet Aurora pared the third playoff hole to win the Men’s Championship.

Ferguson bogeyed the second playoff hole, thus was eliminated.

Aurora missed a four-foot putt for birdie that would have given him the victory over Lindberg, who had pared the hole.

On the third playoff hole, Lindberg made bogie and Aurora made
par to successfully defend the title he won in 2010.

Aurora fired a 74 the first day and a 75 on the second and final day of the tournament to pocket $250.00. Lindberg and Ferguson tied for second.

Brian Gerber (151) was fourth, Kris Hollarbush shot 155 to place fifth and Adam Johnson was sixth with a 156.

Bobby Ancheta carded a 156 to capture the A Flight. Rich Zielke was one back, shooting a 157 to finish second. Milan Sinadinovic’s 158 was good enough for third.

In the B Flight, Doug Mewmaw had a two-day total of 158 to take first. John Schubert and Chris Johnson each shot 166 to tie for second place.

Dan Nave’s 163 total topped those entered in the C Flight. He finished one stroke ahead of Dan Dolan’s 164. Shooting 168s to tie for third were Chris Dorencz, Chris Buckley and Larry Delaney.

In the D flight, Croft Waddington took first. The D flight competitors had their handicaps added to their total to come up with their net score. Andrew Liu took second and Cory Gallois placed third.
