Cross Country: Results From the IHSA State Championship

Oswego and Oswego East both had one runner compete in Class 3A State over the weekend.

Oswego East and Oswego each sent one runner down to the IHSA State Championship this past weekend in Peoria.

Oswego

Oswego junior Peter Johnsrud finished in 40th place in the Class 3A boys cross country series with a time of 15:11. 

To qualify for state, he placed 7th at the sectional hosted by Hinsdale Central with a time of 14:54.01. 

Senior Patrick Perrier from O'Fallon High School placed first with a time of 14:21. 

Oswego East

Oswego East senior Michelle Borycki placed 131st in the Class 3A girls cross country series with a time of 18:49.

She posted a a season best time of 18:25 to qualify for state, and was only the second athlete in East's history to qualify for the IHSA State Meet.

Junior Mimi Smith from New Trier High School placed first with a time of 16:43.
