FOOTBALL: Oswego East Hangs on in Thriller vs. Plainfield South

Find out how Oswego East was able to hold on for one final play in its 32-27 win over Plainfield South.

Breaking It Down: was not able to run the ball efficiently Friday night, but that didn't slow down Sean Kennedy and the Wolves recievers from putting on an offensive explosion in its 32-27 victory over Plainfield South.

Oswego East seemed to be in control for most of the contest, including when Plainfield South had the ball at its own 11-yard-line and only 11 seconds left to playin the fourth quarter. Ricky Luna led the Cougars offense down to the Oswego East 4-yard line on a three-play drive that included a 49-yard pass and a roughing the passer penalty that gave the team one chance to put the ball in the end zone and win. Luna could not find a receiver quick enough and was dropped in the backfield for not only a sack but a loss, as well.

Patch’s MVP: Sean Kennedy, Oswego East. He did throw two interceptions in the first half, yet Kennedy's 17-of-28 for 262 passing yard performance was the reason the Wolves came out on top in this one. Kennedy kept the Plainfield South defense guessing, as he spread the ball out to six different receivers during the night. He also threw two touchdowns in the third quarter.

Plainfield South Stat Pack: The Cougars had a tough time holding onto the football and fumbled on four different occasions. Bradon Reyes returned one of Kennedy's interceptions 56 yards for a touchdown. After only being called for one penalty during the first two quarters, Plainfield South was charged with 11 flags by the end of the night. Jonathan Kosirog rushed for 104 yards on 15 carries.
