Oswego East Softball Standout Heads to Lakeland College

Gretchen Gaertner, a standout athlete from Aurora, will continue her education and her softball career at Lakeland College. She will enroll this fall and take the field with Head Coach Hailey Dreyer in the spring of 2015.

Gaertner is a strong well-rounded catcher who will bring depth, versatility and power for the Muskies this fall. This is her 3rd year playing varsity softball team at Oswego East High School. She has had more than 30 hits on the season and has had more than 16 RBIS. Behind the plate she has thrown out six runners, and picked off two at the bag. Gaertner helps out with younger aspiring softball players at the Naperville Diamond Chips softball clinic.

Gretchen succeeds on the field and in the classroom. She holds a 2.5 GPA at Oswego East High School. She is the daughter of Thomas and Genine Gaertner of Aurora, Il. Gretchen will major in Computer Science at Lakeland College.

Lakeland is a private, applied liberal arts college preparing 4,000 students to make a living and make a life. Classes are offered in seven locations throughout Wisconsin, online and at an international campus in Tokyo, Japan. Lakeland main campus is located in a scenic rural location near Lake Michigan in Sheboygan County, Wis. The Muskies are a member of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
