Oswego Girls Varsity Bowling Takes Second in PCHS Invite

Three senior each earned individual medals as well.

The OHS Girls Varsity Bowling team traveled to Pioneer Lanes in Plainfield for their first tournament of the season at the Plainfield Central Wildcat Invite.  

The team was solid in the morning round,  with seniors Cheyanne Valdez and Trashaunna Manning leading the way for the Panthers.  Valdez averaged 209 in the morning while Manning averaged just under 200 to help put Oswego in first place heading into the lunch break. 

Oswego shot their high games of the day coming back from the lunch break, a 989 followed by 982, to maintain a slight 23-pin lead on Joliet West.

In the final game of the tournament, the Panthers struggled to find the pocket as the lanes broke down, and finished with their low game of the day (879), slipping into 2nd place for the tournament.  

The Panther's team average for the day was 190, and three senior girls earned individual medals.  Jessica Mendez finished in 14th place with a 191 average, Trashuanna Manning finished 7th with a 203 average, and Cheyanne Valdez was the tournament champion, averaging 209 on the day.
