Second Annual FraidyCat 5k Set to Race Your Whiskers Off

Course is both CARA and USATF-IL certified.

Fasten your claws and hold onto your kitty ears, it's going to be a scary run.

Edward Hospital and the Oswego Chamber of Commerce have once more teamed up for their second annual FraidyCat 5k through the heart of downtown Oswego. The flat, scenic CARA and USATF-IL-certified course will take you through Oswego neighborhoods.

The race begins promptly on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Oswego Senior Center, 61 Franklin St. For those participating in the Meow Mile, it wil go off at 9 a.m. The course closes at 11 a.m. for both races.

The cost to register is $40 online for the Fraidy Cat 5k and $20 for the Meow Mile. Registration jumps to $50 on the day of the race, so be sure to register early. Go to the FraidyCat register page to sign-up.

The top overall male and female finishers will receive a trophy and the top three male and female finishers in each age group will also receive a trophy. All participants will receive ribbons.
