Snapshot: Printing Error Ends in Personal Tribute

The two Mustang-league players wore their No. 2 jerseys in honor of Eric Lederman.

Back in June Oswego and Oswego East High School as a tribute to Eric Lederman, Oswego 12-year-old, who in an accident at a baseball game.

Tuesday night was the first fall baseball game for the 9U Mustangs, and Gina Smith's son and one of his best friends on the other team both ended up with No. 2 jerseys.

Smith said it seemed like there had been a mix-up at the printer's and Joey Smith and Carter South had accidentally recieved the number.

The Lederman family, Smith said, allowed the boys to wear the number despite it having been retired, and she said both boys felt honored to do so.

"I am sure they played with an angel on their shoulder!" Smith said.
