Kifowit To Host Child Safety Seat Check and Touch-A-Truck Event for Area Parents and Children

AURORA, Ill – In an effort to help ensure safe car travel for children and to provide a weekend family activity, state Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, D-Aurora, announced that she will host a Child Safety Seat Check and Touch-A-Truck event with the Aurora Fire Prevention Bureau in the parking lot of 4004 Fox Valley Center Drive in Aurora from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 20th.

“As many families are frequently traveling around town to meet the demands of busy summer schedules, it’s important to know that your children are properly secured inside your vehicle,” Kifowit said. “As a parent myself, I know this is one aspect of summer safety that should never be overlooked. I’m happy to work with the Aurora Fire Prevention Bureau to help give parents the peace of mind they need before any road trip or family vacation.”

The event is taking place in the parking lot of the strip mall located at 4004 Fox Valley Center Drive, right near the Commons Drive entrance to Fox Valley Mall. The Aurora Fire Prevention Bureau will inspect child safety seats, demonstrate proper installation and removal, and provide travel safety tips for parents with small children. The Aurora Fire Department will also be on hand with a fire engine and other fun materials to children to enjoy.
