Photos: PrairieFest Day Two

A look at the sights of the first full day of the Oswegoland Park District's annual festival.

The first full day of PrairieFest was a hot one. Sweltering, in fact. And though attendance was down for most of the day – it’s a weekday, after all, and did we mention it was really hot? – the Oswegoland Park District festival still came through with the entertainment.

Friday saw performances by local bands Back Country Roads and 7th Heaven on the main stage, as well as a set by students in the Fox River Academy of Music ad Art, and routines by Park District dance students. And at 6 p.m., a group of dancers leapt up from the main stage area, flash mob style, and put on an impromptu show.

The fun got off to a late start on Friday, since someone had cut through the electrical wires powering Windy City Amusements’ rides, Oswego police said. The power was back up and running by 1 p.m. No word from police on arrests or charges.
