Oswego Resident Hosting Garage Sale Fundraiser for Strides Against Breast Cancer

Event will be held on Saturday, September 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Oswego resident Tricia Mascheri been walking in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, put on by the American Cancer Socity, for six years.

Every other year she holds a garage sale to help raise funds for her team and will be holding one this Saturday, September 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 412 Cobblestone Ct, located in the Kingsbrook Crossing subdivision.

Mascheri said she walks in memory of one of her aunts who lost a nine year battle to cancer six years ago.  She also walks for her mother and another aunt, both breast cancer survivors.

“They say finding a cure to breast cancer could be that key to unlock cures or treatments that will help all kinds of cancer and lymphoma,” said Mascheri. “I strive to make that a reality.”

All of the profit from the garage sale and bake sale goes towards Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Some of the items Mascheri will be selling include furniture, shoes, clothing, kitchen stuff, pictures, rugs, exercise equipment.

She also has quite an assortment of home baked treats, including Pizzelles, brownies, muffins, rice krispie treats and many more.

Purple People, Mascheri’s team, is accepting donations for the walk, which will be held Sunday, October 14 at the Aurora Premium Outlet Mall. Mascheri’s current goal is $300.

“This year the walk is on my birthday, which makes it even more dear to my heart,” said Mascheri. “My friends and family will join me in this walk and we will make strides for a world with more birthdays!”
