PrairieFest BaggaPalooza To Benefit Abused, Neglected Children

Beanbag event raised $4,100 last year for Kendall County Food Pantry.

The game of Baggo has become as synonymous with summer as watermelon and ice cold lemonade.

And during this year’s , people can test out the throwing skills they’ve aquired in all those backyard barbecues by participating in the BaggaPalooza 2011 fundraiser for Court Appointed Special Advocate Kendall County.

A team of two entrance sponsorship is $50. Check in starts at 9 a.m. at the Backyard Barkeep Tent.

“It’s going to be a blast,” said Debi Blocker, executive director of CASA Kendall County, the nonprofit agency that provides volunteer-trained advocates to speak up for abused and neglected children in court.

For those who are hesitant to sign up because they think their beanbag tossing skills may not be up to par, Blocker said to enter the competition anyway.

“I’m sure there are a couple of teams out there that will probably go down pretty quickly,” she said. “But it’s just for fun.”

The event pays out first, second, and third place prizes.
