Although in existence since the late 19th century, the Oswego Fire Protection District did not transition to a full-time force until 2008. Shortly after, in October 2009, the district moved its Station 1 from Main Street in dowtown Oswego to a more central location at 3511 Wooley Road in Oswego. The District covers the entire village of Oswego, parts of Yorkville, Plainfield and Montgomery.
