Yeah! I sure wish those rich guys would leave Illinois and take their businesses with them! TheyRead More can take all that money they pay in taxes with them too! WE DON'T NEED IT! They can take all their jobs and employees and all the tax money those employees pay with them as well, damnit! Illinois is only for those seeking social justice and we don't want our Utopian society contaminated by businesses or the heartless CEOs who would rather KILL their employees than pay a living wage. FORWARD!
Gary April 17, 2014 at 04:07 pm
If I had the time I'd post all the jobs these businesses bring to Illinois and post it on my blog asRead More a counterpoint to this leftist class warfare article. If someone does the work, I'll post it.

Gerry Horne what I think you are missing is that the fine is $525 for something that cost 89 cents.Read More That's what is disgusting. The rent a cop could have given him a warning and let him pay the freaking 89 cents. Then if he was caught again then taken it to the next level. Now this guy has a huge fine and can no longer work at his job site. All of this for a freaking soda...unbelievable!!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!!

A horse and carriage ride in a park, fine. But not on busy, crowded city streets. It's cruel to theRead More horse and dangerous to everyone else. I'm with the NYC mayor on this one.

strange how we respond just as the terrorists desire us to. the media commemorates each incident asRead More if it were a new profit center to mine for every last click. whole populations now sit in fear of another 'something' about to happen, never again, fully safe like we were in the good old days of the cold war? once these bstrds hit us deep inside our own turf we have not become stronger, but rather 'hardened', emboldened in our delusions of ultimate superiority, no longer safe on our 'island of north america'. each of these events changes us all even imperceptably, forcing us to accept their motives, their ideals, their imam imposed concept of living. we act in unison, determined to show them we are not affected, yet that very demonstration reveals our inner need to respond, to re-affirm our own injury, each of those crowd-felt sympathies we all cling to, even if for the brief moment of our 'crowd'. be strong, and further, be alert, be conspicuous in manner in which you care for each other. shy not away from those who seek your death, but do not embrace them, as they fein no challenge to seek close to your demise.

The Madigoblin, as I prefer to call him is not the Wizard of Oz, more kike the Wizard of Ooze, HeRead More makes his real money dipping his wick in the property tax game which he rigged on behalf or the Cook County machine.and the Chicago boys by setting different property tax ratios for residential property and commercial property. Residences think they are getting a great deal, being assessed at 10% of the ephemeral "Estimated Market Value, Businesses bear the burden with a ratio of 25%. No other County is permitted multiple ratios. Our constitution requires that all property in the State have a ratio of 33 1/3%. To reach that level the state reviews recorded sales REGARDLESS OF PROPERTY TYPE and assigns a multiplier to reach the constitutional level For Cook County that thas hovered around 3.0, That multiplier is then assigned to all property to create the valuation against which you are taxed -- in effect 30% of the County estimated market value on residences; 75%, on businesses In order to get the valuations lowered, the appeal system must be used. You can see why businesses rush to the Madigan form and to the Alderman Burke firm and others to willingly pay big bucks to get their valuation lowered. There is more, but I have gone too long.

Pick'n up stakes. Let's face it - for all the reasons articulated by those who've posted heretoforeRead More and many more, Illinois is a used-to-be, fly-over, drive-around, nothing to see here - move along, dire state that is it today. You can't declare your state's and region's main city as a self-declared 'sanctuary city' - let alone without a referendum, and invite all sorts of 3rd World jetsam and flotsam into that city - they being with few employable skills only to become burdens on the criminal justice, public school, public health and other social systems, without consequences. Chicago's public schools are now predominantly non-Caucasian. While race isn't the issue, background is. These most recent immigrants and/or migrants to Chicago and across Illinois haven't brought with them marketable skills. It was one thing in the era of pre-technological society to promote immigration and migration into Chicago, Illinois and/or the Midwest of the unskilled and illiterate - at least in English. However, those were the days of manual labor when labor still drove agriculture and manufacturing required strong backs. Today's manufacturing requires computer-savy and even agriculture is driven - literally, buy GPS. Between robotics, voice-recognition software, computerization and/or the Internet's applications, the ensuing increased efficiencies across the board - in all manner of endeavors, makes such... jesam and flotsam [people] superfluous - at best, to the contemporary economic engine - one that's severely sputtering into complete collapse across Illinois. Yet, Chicago's and Illinois' political hack-quacks threw open the doors. Now Illinois is awash - from Waukegan, over to Rockford, down to Auora, Joliet and elsewhere across the state with those... unemployable and incapable of aggregate net contribution, i.e. those dependent on the ever fewer and fewer still standing tax-payers in the dire state of the State of Illinois. Whether it be the multi-generational and hopelessly dysfunctional African-American 'community', or the ever increasing numbers of Hispanic and Latino [as well as African] more recent arrivals; there's simply nothing [but dependency] for 'em here. At the same time, utterly irresponsible - to their host communities, corporate entities have squeezed and exacerbated the malaise. After half a dozen generations in Chicago, we're out of here. We've shuttered our business and are in the process of moving our residual assets out of Illinois. Our children have all been sent out of state for college and told not to expect a 'home' in Illinois when they're finished; and to look to elsewhere - outside of the Midwest, to lay a claim to their future. The pox - that which are both political parties in Illinois, and the state overrun with non-contributors - as it is [both those of people and corporations], will infect any who remain - the contagion is beyond mitigation at this point. The implosion is only gaining momentum. With Illinois firmly on a trajectory of 3rd Worldly consequence, why bother? "You load 16 tons and what do you get... another day older and deeper in debt." Illinois has piled it SO high and put us SO deep in debt that it's simply insurmountable. Let's face facts, we've met the enemy and they were us - the electorate. We allowed the hack-quacks to destroy us. Well, we're not sitting around to be the last ones [able] to leave and to have to turn out the lights. We'll leave the lights to go off on their own accord when there's no longer the capacity to keep 'em lit - as the debt burdens result in rolling backouts adn gangs of wild-dogs roam hunting for their prey. The Haitization of Illinois is well down the road to self-fulfillment. Adios.
