Vaughan Helps Wolves Shoot Down Romeoville

Sophomore scores 11 points in first quarter as Oswego East boys basketball gets first conference win on Friday night.

Oswego East guard C.J. Vaughan wanted no part of an 0-3 start in Southwest Prairie Conference play. So, he came out firing and his fast start played a huge role Friday night at Romeoville.   With Vaughan dropping in a pair of quick 3-pointers, the Wolves (4-3, 1-2) jumped out to a 12-0 lead on the Spartans and went on to win 54-39 for their first conference win of the young season.   “We knew we were 0-2 in conference and we had to pick it up,” said Vaughan, who exploded for 11 points as Oswego East built an 18-8 lead after one quarter. “We picked it up and we got a win.”   Vaughan said he may have caught Romeoville by surprise with his first couple of threes, but said he felt good with his shot in the first quarter so he took advantage of…
