A look at the sights of the final day of the Oswegoland Park District's summer festival.
The curtain has fallen on another PrairieFest. But Sunday’s finale had plenty of fun for everyone who braved the heat. The centerpiece of the day, of course, was the PrairieFest Parade, and hundreds upon hundreds of people lined the downtown streets to watch the floats, bands and politicians pass by. And it didn’t disappoint – kids and their parents were delighted with the hour-long procession. But the newest attraction on the last day of PrairieFest was the inaugural bed races. Three teams signed up to race specially-designed beds down Theodore Drive, competing for charity. The Oswegoland Park District’s own team, The Queen and Her Court, won the race, but according to organizer Brian Everhart of the park district, the $750 purse will be …
