Videos: PrairieFest Days Three and Four

Check out the final two videos in our four-part series on PrairieFest 2012.

And with these two videos, we bring our coverage of PrairieFest 2012 to an end. The third and fourth in our series (go here to see the first two), these videos cover Saturday and Sunday, the last two days of the Oswegoland Park District’s massive festival. You’ll get to see Saturday’s Oswego Fire Protection District bucket brigade, and performances by Oswego band Cash Inn and headliners the Gin Blossoms. And in Sunday’s video, you can check out the annual parade, and the first-ever PrairieFest bed races. Four teams competed, and the $750 purse was split between two charities: Autism Speaks and Young Life. Enjoy the videos, and start looking forward to next year’s PrairieFest.

Your PrairieFest Schedule for Saturday

Here's what's up for today, PrairieFest's biggest day. It all leads to a performance by pop-rockers the Gin Blossoms.

But with the festival now entering its 24th year, how do you keep it fresh? If you’re the Oswegoland Park District, you add something new and interesting to the lineup every day. You’ll still get the food, games and music you’ve come to expect – including a performance by the Gin Blossoms this year – but every day from Thursday, June 14 to Sunday, June 17 at PrairieFest Park at 91 Plank Drive will bring something PrairieFest audiences haven’t seen before, according to Kristie Vest, special events supervisor with the park district.
