Court Date Scheduled for Woman Accused of Lying About Rape

Annette C. Brown, 33, of Sandwich, is next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 3, Kendall County court records show.

The 33-year-old Sandwich woman accused of lying to police about being raped and held against her will outside Plano is scheduled to appear in court next month. Annette C. Brown was charged with three Class 4 felonies three days after telling Kendall County Sheriff's police Aug. 7 that a uniformed man in what appeared to be an unmarked police car pulled her over, pulled a gun on her and raped her in a nearby cornfield, authorities said. Police initially released a decription of the assailant only to announce within a matter of days that they did not believe he existed. She is accused of filing a false police report. Felony Charges Filed Against Woman Who Alleged Rape Tuesday

Annette C. Brown, 33, of Sandwich, faces three counts of felony disorderly conduct.

The woman who told police a uniformed man raped her in a cornfield at gunpoint has been charged with filing a false police report, authorities said. Annette C. Brown, 33, of Sandwich, will be taken into custody with a bail of $10,000 when she finishes treatement at an area hospital, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office. She faces three felonies. Police Impersonator Rape Did Not Happen: Sheriff

Kendall County Sheriff's police said Thursday that no sexual assault nor police imposter were involved.

A 33-year-old Sandwich woman was not raped at gunpoint by a police imposter, Kendall County Sheriff's Police announced on their Facebook page. "The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is cancelling the community alert concerning the reported police impersonator that allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on Griswold Springs Road in unincorporated Plano," the post stated. "The crime did not occur. The investigation into the incident will continue." The sheriff's office posted the information about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, about two days after the woman claimed she was pulled over on Griswold Springs Road about 0.25 miles west of Little Rock Road outside Plano. Sandwich Woman Sexually Assaulted at Gunpoint: Sheriff

Assailant was wearing a police or fire type uniform, pulled her over in an unmarked car about 6:47 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

A 33-year-old Sandwich woman was beaten and sexually assaulted in a cornfield Tuesday by a uniformed, masked man who pulled her over in a blue car with a flashing red and blue light, Kendall County Sheriff's police said. The woman told police she was driving on Griswold Springs Road about 0.25 miles west of Little Rock Road when a man driving alone in a blue Ford Crown Victoria pulled her over, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. After walking to her vehicle, the man pulled a mask over his face, pulled out a handgun and ordered the woman to walk to the cornfield next to the road. There, he beat and sexually assaulted her.
