The Oswegoland Optimist Club doesn't want you to just stuff yourself with food for the holiday: they want to help others on this feast of an occasion. The Optimist Club is hosting Midwest Mardi Gras, "Taking the Mask off of Abuse and Neglect," with all profits from the event going to CASA Kendall County (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Video: Off to the Pumpkin Races

Hundreds turned out for the third annual Pumpkin Races put on by the Oswegoland Optimist Club.

The Oswegoland Optimist Club's third annual Pumpkin Races were held last Saturday afternoon. The event had racers pit their pumpkins against one another to see which decorated pumpkin was the fastest down the hill. Many of the pumpkins featured different animal designs -- like an elephant, cat and chicken -- to movie characters -- like a Minion from Despicable Me and Mike from Monsters Inc. -- to many Halloween-inspired designs.  The pumpkins went off by age group to find the fastest pumpkin of them all. Any pumpkin though caught not adhering to the rules was called a "Cheater Pumpkin" and met a pulpy end from the Oswego Police Department. Oswegoland Optimist Club president Ron Elvin served as the referee for the races.  Tell Us: Did you …
