Snapshot: Churchill Group Wins Lottery

Show of hands, how many of you went out and purchased a Powerball ticket last month for the $550 million jackpot? While they may not have won the grand prize, a group of Churchill residents celebrated their $51 dollar win with a giant check sent to them by the Illinois Lottery and a party. Katra Knoernschild, of Churchhill Club, said a group of them decided to pool together and purchase several tickets for the Powerball grand prize. “We’re always having impromptu celebrations, our neighborhood of crazy, fun, outgoing people,” said Knoernschild. “This was just another way for everyone to jump in and do something crazy.” Norm Petersdorf was in charge of the Powerball and had 32 families enter.
