Crash Suspect Charged with Aggravated DUI

Anthony A. Halstead was charged with a class 4 felony for an accident in June

A man accused of reckless driving and failure to yield to avoid an accident in a June 10 crash that sent three people being sent to area hospitals is charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. Anthony A. Halstead, 19, of the 400 block of South Madison Street, Oswego was taken into custody July 27. Halstead was released the same day after posting 10 percent of his $50,000 bond, according to Oswego police. The June 10 crash occured on Route 30 between Douglas Road and 5th Street.

UPDATE: Three Involved in Sunday Accident Remain Hospitalized

One teen was taken by helicopter to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, while two others were sent to Rush-Copley Medical Center.

The three teenagers involved in an accident Sunday morning on Route 30 remained hospitalized Monday morning. According to a media spokeswoman at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Amber Davis, 18, of Montgomery, is listed in critical condition. Davis was taken by emergency helicopter to Good Samaritan. Davis was a passenger a vehicle driven by Anthony Halstead, 19, of Oswego. According to Oswego police, Halstead's vehicle collided with another car driven by James Biever of Big Rock at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Route 30 near Douglas Road. Halstead was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, and is listed in fair condition, according to a media spokeswoman. Three Hospitalized in Route 30 Crash

An 18-year-old Montgomery woman was taken by emergency helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

A Sunday morning accident at Route 30 and Douglas Road in Oswego sent three people to area hospitals, according to Oswego police. Two cars, one driven by James Biever, 50, of Big Rock and the other by Anthony Halstead, 19, of Oswego, collided near the intersection at about 9:30 a.m. Both drivers were ticketed with failure to yield to avoid an accident, police said. Halstead was taken by Oswego Fire Protection District personell to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, and a passenger in his car, Amber Davis, 18, of Montgomery, was taken by emergency helicopter to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, police said.
