Gas station would be located at Wolf Road and Route 30.
A new Speedway gas station may be headed for Oswego near the intersection of Wolf Road and Route 30. The only issue with the proposal is that part of that land is in Aurora. Oswego Community Development Director Rod Zenner said the site that Speedway is looking at is two-thirds in Oswego and one-third in Aurora. Village officials have had several meetings with counterparts in Aurora, said Zenner, and they’re in discussion to have the back third annexed to the Village of Oswego. In exchange, Aurora would be looking for revenue sharing with Oswego. Aurora officials have also said they do not want gasoline pumps to be installed on Aurora land, said Zenner. BP released a list of stations that received gasoline known to cause problems in vehicles. One station in Oswego received the off-specification fuel.
BP has released a list of stations that sold tainted gasoline related to refinery problem at its Whiting, Ind. plant and one Oswego station is on the list. The station that received some of the fuel, which was known to cause problems in some vehicles, is a non-BP station – the Speedway at the intersection of Route 34, Route 71 and Wolf Road. The station listed did receive gasoline associated with problems related to the alkylation unit at BP’s Whiting refinery, BP said on a special response site created to offer information on the tainted gasoline. Oswego's Gas City location was sold to Speedway last month. The store will close tonight and reopen Friday without Dunkin' Donuts.
Anyone who is a regular drinker of Dunkin' Donuts coffee will tell you that the morning pick-me-up can turn into a powerful addiction. Customers who have gotten their fix of caffeine at the only Oswego Dunkin' Donuts location inside the Gas City at Route 34 and Wolfs Crossing Road will now have to start brewing their own at home, find another supplier or develop a taste for Speedway coffee starting Friday. Gas City gas stations and convenience stores, including the Oswego location, acquired by Speedway at the company's April bankruptcy auction are set to close at 8 p.m. Thursday and re-open Friday morning under their new name.
