Census: Oswego's Median Home Price Above State Average, Over 32 Percent of Population Under 18

The U.S. Census Bureau has released information highlighting demographics for cities and town across the nation, including Oswego.

Census information is out, and it shows that Oswego is mostly white, educated and financially well-off. In addition, women are in the majority by a slim margin.  In Oswego, 88.3 percent of residents own their own homes and those homes are worth a median of $258,400, well above the median Illinois home price of $198,500, according to newly released census information.  In 2011, it was estimated 30,856 people called Oswego home, up 1.7 percent or 503 people from April 2010, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
