Man Arrested on Multiple Charges After Fleeing From Three Police Departments

Sheriff’s deputies ended up using a tire deflation device to stop the vehicle.

How many police departments does it take to catch a fleeing vehicle? In the incident involving a Woodridge man, the answer would be three. Jerry Williams Jr., 25, from Woodridge, Ill., was arrested a little after 12 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23 in the area of Route 71 and Hughes Road, and given multiple citations in the incident that involved three different police agencies, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office At 12:10 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies were notified of a vehicle that had fled a traffic stop in Aurora by Aurora Police. The vehicle entered Kendall County where it was pursued by Oswego Police, but fled from them as well. Wolf’s Crossing Road and Adams Street to Be Closed for Several Months

Both roads will be closed as result to damage to their bridges from last week’s flooding.

Looks like we’re going to be going the long way around Oswego for a while. Both the Wolf’s Crossing Road bridge and the Adams Street bridge are out of commission due to the flooding last week and are expected to be closed for several months, according to Oswego Police. Counterfeit Bill Oswego police took a report for a counterfeit $20 bill used at Murphy USA on April 22 between 7 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. DUI Frederick C. Plum, 41, of the 3000 block of Shutterend Lane, Montgomery, was arrested at 1:58 a.m. at Chicago Road and Route 71 and charged for driving under the influence, said Oswego police. Retail theft, possession of alcohol by a minor Tyler W. Zolper, 19, of the 0-99 block of Fernwood Road, Montgomery, was arrested at 5 p.m. in the 2700 block of Route 34 and charged with retail theft and the unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor, said Oswego police. Jersey Mike's Supporting Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois

From now through April 28 the Oswego Jersey Mike's will donate $1 for every regular sub to the Oswego Police for the Law Enforcement Torch Run in June

Eating sandwiches and supporting a great cause? That's something we can all rally behind. The Oswego Police Department will be participating in the Local Law Enforcement Torch Run of Illinois for Special Olympics in June where about 3,000 law enforcement officers carry the Flame of Hope to start the opening ceremonies for the Games in Normal, Illinois. The Oswego Police earlier participated for the tenth time in the Polar Plunge and now are working with the Oswego Jersey Mike's to raise more funds. The Torch Run raised $2.98 million in 2012 and their goal is to reach $3 million in 2013.   From April 22 to April 28, the Oswego Jersey Mike’s Subs will donate $1 for every Regular Size sub that is purchased. Red Cross Supplying Disaster Clean-Up Kits

Kits will only be available until Friday, April 26 until 2 p.m.

The following is from a release issued by the Oswego Police Department:  The Red Cross is supplying disaster clean-up kits to the Village of Oswego residents that have been affected by last week's flood. These kits are to assist in easing the efforts of your clean-up at home. The Diasaster Clean-Up Kits contain the following items: One kit per household will be given to residents. This program will only be available until Friday, April 26 at 2 p.m.  If you would like a disaster kit please contact the front desk of the Oswego Police Department at 630-551-7300. Kits will be available for pick-up after your request has been made.

Trespassing to land Donald A. Cox, 55, listed as homeless, was arrested at 12:36 p.m. in the 200 block of Douglas Road and charged with trespassing to land, said Oswego police. Retail theft Oswego police are investigating a reported retail theft that occurred at 6:05 a.m. at the Oswego Meijer, 2700 block of Route 34. $92.97 was reported stolen. Possession of cannabis, in-state warrant Rick K. Henry Jr., 28, of the 11700 block of Glen Circle, Plainfield and Clark M. Gillespie, 27, of the 2900 block of Carlsbad Circle, Aurora, were arrested at 12:30 a.m. at Route 30 and Harvey, said Oswego police. Update, 5:20 p.m. Tuesday The cause of the accident was determined to be speeding and road conditions due to the rain, said Captain Jeff Burgner. The driver, a juvenile, was charged with driving too fast for conditions in the accident.  Update, 9:20 a.m. Tuesday A family friend who knows driver and passenger, both students at Oswego High School, provided a brief update on their conditions.  The passenger has a broken femur, skull fracture, as well as other fractures and breaks. Oswego LA Fitness Broken Into Overnight

Nothing appears to have been stolen at this time.

The Oswego LA Fitness was broken into overnight Sunday, according to Oswego Police. Captain Jeff Burgner said the unknown suspects forced their way into the building through a front door, leaving shattered glass all over the floor sometime between 9 p.m. on Sunday at 5 a.m. on Monday. “Right now we do not have any indications of them being able to steal anything,” said Burgner. As of 10:45 a.m. a person at the LA Fitness front desk said the fitness center is open and everything is running normally. There was also an unrelated hit and run that occurred to a parked car in the LA Fitness parking lot at 7:37 p.m. Sunday. The incident remains under investigation. 

Boulder Hill Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Attempted Armed Robbery

Cory M. Paytes, 23, pleaded guilty to attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery in which he threatened an Oswego Arby’s employee with a handgun in December 2011.

A Boulder Hill man has been sentenced to 12 years for charges of attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery in an incident in December of 2011, according to Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis. Cory M. Paytes, 23, of the 0-99 block of Eastfield Road in Boulder Hill, pled guilty in March 2013 for charges stemming from an incident on Dec. 13, 2011 at the Oswego Arby’s in the 200 block of Douglas Road. Oswego Police responded to an armed robbery in progress and learned that two men wearing ski masks and dark clothing, one armed with a handgun, had forced their way into the Arby’s while an employee was taking out the trash.
