Cul-de-sac plowing program to begin late Thursday afternoon.
The village of Oswego Public Works Department plows are out in full force as the snow continues to pile up Thursday afternoon. Jerry Weaver, director of public works, said crews have been out since about 10 a.m. working to keep the roads clear. He said there are no real trouble spots in town as of 2 p.m., but that strong winds overnight could change that. “Right now our biggest concern is what happens after midnight,” he said. "We'll work through the night to keep the roads clear." As for the village’s new cul-de-sac plowing plan, Weaver said he anticipates the private firm the village hired to plow some 147 of the village’s cul-de-sacs will start their work late Thursday afternoon. Bids accepted through Nov. 21 for contract with village.
Residents who live along many of the village’s 227 cul-de-sacs may be in for some welcome relief when it comes to snow removal this winter. Public Works Director Jerry Weaver will soon be accepting bids from private companies the village may hire to help clear the cul-de-sacs, which are typically some of the last streets to be plowed. Weaver brought the proposal to the Village Board at its meeting Tuesday night. The contract workers would plow cul-de-sacs on the west side of the Fox River and south of Wolf Road. The affected subdivisions would be Fox Chase, River Run, Park Place, Gates Creek, Gates Creek West, Blackberry Knolls, Southbury, Lakeview, Lakeview West, Deerpath, Morgan Crossing, Arbor Gate, Ashcroft, Old Reserve and parts of …

Tewksbury CT serviced by Oswego's Public Works Department still needed snow removal as of 6AM this morning. We received partial snow removal and dumping snow within the Cul de Sac later this morning. Acccording to Jerry Weaver, snow dumping within the Cul de Sac is not supposed to happen. Guess they forgot to let the snow removal crew know.
