There are open seats on the Oswego Village Board, Oswego 308 School Board, Oswegoland Park District Board and the Oswego Public Library District Board.
Oswego voters will have a selection of candidates to vote for in the Oswego April elections. Check out to see who has filed and will be on the ballot in April. Three trustee seats are available for four-year terms. Four board seats are available for four-year terms (one seat must be filled from an unincorporated area). One seat is available for a six-year term. At this time the Park District has said it is has not yet made a final decision on moving forward with fillng the empty seat left by Leonard Wass's resignation from the park board. Update 1:40 p.m. Thursday Although no snow has fallen yet, Public Works Director Jerry Weaver said public works staff is monitoring the area and has trucks "ready to roll" should they be needed. Robin Frisch and her 30-year-old daughter Mara received an early and unexpected Christmas gift last week—the return of Mara’s purse. “It goes to show that the people in Yorkville are just good people,” Frisch said. The mother and daughter team were out Christmas shopping and running other errands when Mara suddenly realized she did not have her purse. The two women retraced their steps in hopes some good Samaritan had turned the purse in to a store for safe keeping. “We were panicked when we first realized the purse was missing, Frisch said in a telephone interview. “We called my daughter’s cell phone hoping to hear it ringing somewhere in the car, but there was nothing.” Frisch, who moved to Yorkville five years ago from Naperville, said …

Coupons are being sent out to support Oswego high schools’ booster programs.
The wait for a new Oswego Dunkin’ Donuts is over. The location inside the Prairie Market Shopping Center along Route 34 is set to open on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 5:00 a.m. Rob Mittman, director of marketing for The Hari Group that is overseeing the new Dunkin’, said the restaurant will be sending and handing out 20,000 coupons to help support Oswego High School and Oswego East High School Booster programs. The coupons will be for a free medium or large hot or iced coffee with a $1 donation to either school’s booster program. In terms of hiring, Mittman said there are still a few spots open and the store is always looking for “friendly and hard-working employees.” The Dunkin’ will be situated at the east end of the retail strip that also …
