Andrea Cladis is a 2011 Summa Cum Laude graduate from Elmhurst College with degrees in English Writing, Communications and French. During college, Andrea worked as a writing tutor and a student ambassador, she was a member of the women’s tennis team, the campus Ministry Team, she was a leader within Elmhurst College’s Honors Program and several other campus organizations, she helped found a new sorority on campus, she wrote for the student newspaper and public relations department, and was selected as a senior of the year finalist. Now, back in Geneva, where she has been a resident for her entire life, Andrea has become more involved in what she considers to be an amazing community.

Andrea has worked for Delnor (Cadence Health) Hospital's Marketing and Public Relations Department, for local neighborhood magazines, and for the Kane, Lake, and McHenry County Magazine(s) as an intern for Shaw Suburban Media. She currently works as a Fitness instructor (Zumba, Kickboxing, Pilates, Cardio Core) in Geneva, St. Charles and Batavia, as a Sunday School Teacher at St. Mark’s Church in Geneva, writing tutor, and she and is an active member of the Kane County Young Republicans, Elmhurst College Alumni Committee.  She also recently completed her teaching licensure in English and French and will be teaching in St. Charles this fall.

In her free time, Andrea loves to read as much as possible, compete in triathlons, cook, play tennis, go for long bike rides, swim, rollerblade, dance, spend time with her family, perhaps most importantly, she loves to write! Her favorite genre is creative nonfiction, and she loves to write poetry and short stories.

A Sox fan at heart, knowing her father would disown her if she selected any other team to support; Andrea also enjoys attending White Sox games with family and friends, and cheering for her favorite Sox player, Paul Konerko.

Andrea classifies herself as a conservative Republican, but coming from a large Greek family, she has learned that though obstinance in opinions can be rewarding, sometimes it's best to listen to others, accept advice and just take life one day at a time!
