I'm a life-long Yorkvillian who's spent most of my educational career in the Yorkville School District. I then graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2010 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and international business. During college I lived over 10 months in various parts of China and now speak conversational Mandarin, although I haven't been utilizing that skill lately.
As a journalist I've written freelance sports articles for the Daily Iowan, commentary for the Kendall County Record, and music reviews for Iowa's KRUI radio station. I've also been a features reporter for China's national English newspaper, the China Daily, and covered press events at the main media center during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Currently I'm working for Patch.com in Yorkville and Oswego along with other freelance opportunities as they come along.
