Employee at Oswego Business Reportedly Stole Over $1,500 in Fraudulent Returns

Wednesday, Nov. 20

Possession of cannabis

Santana Rodriguez, 19, of the 0-99 block of Saugatuck, Montgomery, was aested at 2:33 p.m. in the 0-99 block of Franklin and charged with the possession of cannabis, said Oswego police.

DUI

Ritas J. Pavilinois, 50, of the 6000 block of Audry, Yorkville, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. in the 1000 block of Station Lane, Oswego, and charged with driving under the influence, said Oswego police.

No valid driver’s license

Mario Rodriguez, 29, of the 100 block of Laurie Lane, Oswego, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. at Route 31 and Century Drive and charged with speeding and driving without a valid driver’s license, said Oswego police.

Hit and run

Oswego police took a report for a hit and run that occurred at 5:47 p.m. at parker’s Mill and Washington. A semi-trailer hit a light pole and then left the scene. Damage is estimated at over $1,500.

Monday, Nov. 18

Battery, disorderly conduct

A male juvenile, 17, was arrested at 1244 p.m. at Oswego East High School after repeatedly punching another juvenile, 16, in the facial area, said Oswego police.

Hit and run

Oswego police are investigating a hit and run crash that occurred at 11 p.m. at Orchard Road and Route 71.

DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia

Lauren B. Erikson, 21, of the 0-99 block of Somerset, Montgomery, was arrested at 6:20 a.m. at Collins and Grove and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, possession of drug paraphernalia and the illegal transportation of alcohol, said Oswego police.

Theft

Oswego police took a report for a theft that occurred on Nov. 15 in Bolingbrook. TA victim’s debit card was used to make unauthorized transactions totaling $47.93.

Saturday, Nov. 16

No valid driver’s license, handicapped parking violation

Nichole S. Baines, 33, of the 700 block of Fairfield, Oswego, was arrested at 8:06 p.m. in the 2300 block of Route 34 and charged for driving without a valid driver’s licens and with a violation for parking in a handicapped parking spot, said Oswego police. 

Unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor

McKenna L. Gajeak, 19, of the 700 block of Dover Way, Shorewood, was arrested at 3:20 a.m. at Route 34 and Wolf Road and charged for the unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, said Oswego police.

Friday, Nov. 15

Retail theft, obstructing a peace officer

Michael L. Moss, 57, of the 1200 block of East Liberty Street, Aurora, was arrested at 7:31 p.m. in the 2200 block of Route 34 and charged with retail theft of $191.66 and obstructing a peace officer, said Oswego police.

Fight

Oswego police went to the 0-99 block of Beau Meade at 3:14 p.m. for a fight between neighbors. Two women were in a disagreement over leaves, which turned physical. No arrests were made in the incident.

Domestic battery

Rocco Casurella Jr., 51, of the 400 block of Greenview Lane, Oswego, was arrested at 5:22 p.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery, said Oswego police.

Property damage

A victim reported damage to property that occurred at 6:30 a.m. at Stonehill and Pearces Ford. The post that held the victim’s mailbox had been struck and broke off.

Counterfeit money

Oswego police took a report of a counterfeit bill that was passed at an Oswego business at 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of Route 34.

Thursday, Nov. 14

Theft

  • Oswego police are investigating a report from a business for theft by an employee that occurred at various times through 2013 in the 1600 block of Douglas Road. The employee has reportedly been conducting fraudulent returns and taking the funds.  The sum stolen is reported at over $1,500.
  • Oswego police took a report for a theft that occurred at an unknown time in the 100 block of Eisenhower, Oswego. Someone stole a patio table and two chairs, valued at $80.
  • Liza M. Lantz, 19, of the 200 block of Grant Street, Earlville, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. in the 2300 block of Route 34 and charged with retail theft of $12.94 and possession of alcohol by a minor, said Oswego police.

Possession of cannabis

Mia I. Litle, 19, of the 200 block of Arbor Ridge Drive, Montgomery, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. in the 2400 block of Route 34 and charged with the possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams.

Wednesday, Nov. 13

Domestic battery

Cheryl L. Garcia, 36, of the 200 block of Devoe Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. at her residence and charged with domestic battery, said Oswego police.
