Fire Causes Over $100,000 Worth of Damage to Oswego Home

Several cats reportedly passed away from the fire.

No one was injured in a fire that broke out yesterday morning, firefighters told the Beacon

The fire reportedly broke out in the home's kitchen on the first floor. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and damages are likely to exceed $100,000.

A dog was saved, but several cats passed away, according to the Beacon

Nov. 11, 10:33 a.m.
A fire was reported at 9:56 a.m. at 567 Lakeview Drive, Oswego.

Smoke was reported showing from the second floor, according to dispatch reports Patch received.

Oswego Fire Protection District and Oswego police officers were on scene and Lakeview Drive has been blocked off between Isleview and Pinehurst Lane. 

Neighbors reported that a dog was safely removed from the home and that a cat was still reportedly inside. 

Oswego Police Captain Jeff Burgner said there are, "No injuries at this point in time."

The homeowner was not reportedly home at the time of the fire.
