Multiple Vehicles Burglarized on Same Street

Items stolen in the burglaries included an iPhone, iPad, laptop and GPS unit.

Vehicle burglaries and residential burglaries have been spotted regularly in police reports from around the area.

One street in particular had two recent vehicle burglaries on the same day.

At sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, two vehicles were reported burglarized in the 600 block of Manhattan Circle, said Oswego police.

In the first incident, an unknown person(s) entered a vehicle parked in the home's driveway and stole a briefcase, iPhone, iPad and a laptop computer.

In the second, the unknown person(s) entered another vehicle also parked on the driveway and took a GPS unit and radar detector, valued together at over $500.

Earlier this year the Oswego Police offered a list of tips to prevent car thefts.

A few tips were:

  • Always lock your vehicle's doors
  • Remove valuables from inside the vehicle as an empty car is less likely to draw a thief's attention
  • If you cannot take items with you, conceal them by covering with a blanket, putting inside a compartment in the vehicle or placing under the seats
