Counterfeit Bills Used in Oswego: Police Blotter

Wednesday, Feb. 6

DUI

Carol S. Parker, 72, of the 400 block of Treasure Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. at Adams Street and Washington and charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level greater than .08 and improper lane usage, said Oswego police.

No valid driver’s license, speeding

Jorge F. Barba, 35, of the 100 block of Dearborn, Aurora, was arrested at 11:21 p.m. at Minkler Road and Route 71 and charged for driving without a valid license and speeding, said Oswego police.

Oswego police are investigating a reported retail theft that occurred on Jan. 25 in the 2300 block of Route 34. A television was reported stolen.

Theft

Oswego police are investigating a reported theft that occurred at an unknown time on Feb. 5 at Thompson Jr. High School. A cell phone was reported stolen.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

Telephone harassment

Oswego police are investigating reported telephone calls from a blocked number that a victim has reported receiving. The calls come at various times for several minutes and have been happening over the past several days.

Retail theft

Charles E. Allen, 28, of the 1200 block of Fourth Street, Aurora, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. in the 2300 block of Route 34 and charged with retail theft, said Oswego police.

Monday, Feb. 4

Theft

Oswego police are investigating a reported theft that occurred at 2:50 p.m. at Oswego East High School. Items valued at $235 were reported taken from a locker.

Sunday, Feb. 3

Retail theft, possession of alcohol

Two juveniles were arrested at 7 p.m. at Route 34 and Fifth Street in relation to an incident earlier at 12:30 a.m. One juvenile was charged with retail theft and the other was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, said Oswego police. Both were released to a parent.

Saturday, Feb. 2

DUI, leaving scene of accident

Ryan A. Uher, 27, of the 4300 block of Dobbins Street, Plano, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. at Nottingham Court and Nottingham Drive and charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and leaving the scene of an accident, said Oswego police.

Hit and run

  • Oswego police are investigating a reported hit and run that occurred at an unknown time at Washington Street and Presidential Boulevard. A vehicle hit a light pole and tree, resulting in over $1,500 worth of damages.
  • Oswego police responded to a reported hit and run that occurred at an unknown time at Madison Street and Jefferson Street in which a street light pole was struck.
  • Oswego police are investigating hit and run that occurred at Wolf Road and Secretariat Road. A vehicle struck a sign and did $100 worth of damage.
  • Oswego police are investigating a hit and run that occurred at an unknown time at Croydon Court and Prairieview Drive. An unknown vehicle struck a mailbox resulting in $100 worth of damage.

No valid driver’s license

Manuel Perez, 39, of the 400 block of Grapevine Trail, Oswego, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. at Douglas and Route 34 and charged for driving without a valid license, said Oswego police.

Friday, Feb. 1

DUI

David Pacyga, 39, of the 0-99 block of Ceboud, Montgomery, was arrested at 9:01 p.m. at Brockway and Northampton and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage that resulted in an accident, said Oswego police.

Hit and run

Oswego police are investigating a reported hit and run that occurred at 12:45 p.m. at Dorchester Court and Prairieview Drive. A vehicle struck a mailbox and left the scene.

Theft

  • Oswego police responded to a reported theft that occurred on Jan. 31 at Oswego East High School. More than $500 worth of belongs were reported stolen from a locker.
  • A female juvenile, 17, was arrested at Oswego High School for an incident of theft that reportedly occurred on Jan. 29, said Oswego police.
  • Oswego police responded to a report of two counterfeit $20 bills that were passed at a business in the 2800 block of Route 34 on Jan. 31. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Oswego police responded to a report of three counterfeit $20 bills that were passed at a business in the 1100 block of Route 34 on Jan. 31. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Oswego police are investigating a reported theft that occurred on Jan. 30 in the 200 block of Stillwater Court. The victim reported $250 worth of power tools missing after a moving company the victim had hired had left the residence.

Wednesday, Jan. 30

Hit and run

Oswego police responded to a reported hit and run that occurred around 5:00 a.m. at Presidential and Washington. A legally parked car was hit resulting in approximately $500 worth of damages.
