What's Open, Closed for Columbus Day in Oswego

Trash and recycling collection will be scheduled as normal.

Columbus Day is Monday, Oct. 14 and many local and federal government offices and services will be closed (those not already affected by the government shutdown) because it's a federal holiday.

Columbus Day has been observed on the second Monday of October since 1971, according to history.com.

Closed:

Oswego 308: All school buildings and district offices will be closed

Kendall County: Kendall county court and government offices will be closed.

U.S. Post Office: 
There will be no mail service on Columbus Day.

Open

Trash and recycling: Monday will be a regular solid waste collection day for Oswego residents who receive trash and recycling collection service on Mondays.

Village of Oswego: All Village offices will remain open.

Oswego Public Library: Both the Oswego and Montgomery campus will be open for normal hours.
