Combined Oswego Robotics Team Hosts 'Gear it Forward' Open House

Robotics teams will participate in scrimmages on Saturday at OEHS.

The Oswego 2338 Gear It Forward robotics team, a collaborative team with members from Oswego East High School and Oswego High School, cordially invites you to attend their Open House is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15. 
The Open House will be held in the Commons at Oswego East High School, 1525 Harvey Rd., Oswego.

This event is sure to be exciting; many area FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams have been invited to participate in scrimmages.

Additionally, District 308 Jr. FIRST LEGO League and LEGO League teams will display the robots their teams have designed.
 
Oswego Team 2338, Gear It Forward, gives students an opportunity to use a team approach to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), competing in regional and world competitions that showcase their skills in robotics and teamwork. Some of Gear It Forward’s recent accomplishments include 2013 Wisconsin Regional Winner, 2013 Midwest Regional Gracious Professionalism Award Winner, and 2013 World Championship Alliance Captain, Galileo Division, and quarterfinalist team out of 100 teams in their division. The team was also invited to participate in the elite Indiana Robotics Invitational based on their performance throughout the 2013 season.
 
Concessions will be available for purchase. Raffle baskets will be available for bidding. Hands-on STEM activities and games will be provided. A special raffle basket will be geared towards those that bring a non-perishable item for local food pantries. The event is appropriate for all ages and is open to the entire community.
