Snapshot: Oswego High School Senior Collects Soccer Balls for a Cause

The soccer balls will be delivered to children in Guatemala.

Earlier in September, Oswego High School senior Abbey Kipper went to work collecting soccerballs to donate to children in Guatemala who don't often have the resources for toys or games.

Kipper ended up collecting over 300 soccer balls to donate and wanted to send out this message to all who helped her to help others.

Dear friends and family,

As you all know, I have been collecting soccer balls for children in Guatemala the last few weeks. Together, you have donated a total of 304 soccer balls! The kids will certainly have a terrific Christmas!

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your generosity! I've seen an abundance of kind words and helping hands, in addition to all of the balls donated. I am nearly speechless for the fact that the majority of the balls that are being sent are new. This will be stark contrast to the things they are used to getting and certainly a wonderful surprise for these kids. I would like to stress that you have blessed me as well as these kids. It was absolutely pure joy for me to witness such acts of kindness and generosity! Speechless is the word to best describe my reaction to your help, but I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you, even if you simply helped with a prayer. It means the world to me and many, many kids. Bless you!
